Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple is located in Vemulavada(Vemulawada) which is 38 kms from Karimnagar and 150 Kms from Hyderabad. Sri Raja Rajeshwara Temple is one of the most sacred spots in South India. Vemulawada Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swami temple is one of the very few temples devoted to Lord Siva. This historical temple located in south India is popularly known as The Dakshana Kashi (Benaras of South India). The Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple is a fine example of communal harmony where both Hindus and Muslims offer obeisance to Lord Siva and Allah. Most significant feature of the temple is that it houses a 400-year old mosque inside its premises. It is said that the mosque was built as a tribute to a Muslim devotee of Lord Shiva who lived for many years in the temple precincts and breathed his last.
